G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha: Me, Myself & I

Now, when I heard this song "Me, Myself & I" by G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha, I immediately could relate to those nights or even days when you want to just stay home. Those days when you just want to get away from it all.  If you could, you wish you could just get away from the big city.  If you could, you wish you could just go on vacation to some isolated place---your place of solitude.  If you could, you wish you could just fly into the distance.

In "Me, Myself & I", G-Eazy struggles with what he has become and everything that comes with it.  It becomes apparent that the lifestyle he is going into has its advantages, its perks, or should he call it consequences.  He addresses what he has always wanted---the fame and fortune of being in the rap game, the music industry, and celebrity bravado.  It’s definitely a nice lifestyle to live and be able to have all the riches your heart may desire.  The twist is, when he has realized that this was what he has always wanted he also realizes it’s not what it’s all cut out to be.

The music video provides us the tale of a young and rising rapper.  He is obviously doing well in the music industry and his musical talent gains him publicity and stardom.  He has reached well into being a known figure and can afford the many materialistic wants that he thinks aims to make him happy.  He lures in the sharks that seem to be so needy in being his friend or even just around him.

In all of this gusto and limelight, he doesn’t feel so happy.  He begins to go to the weighing scales, struggling with the fact that he always wanted this but now all he wants is Me, Myself & I, to be left alone, to not be a target of other’s self endeavors, and to be alone making his own music because it is and always will be “music” that keeps him strong, alive, and happy.

G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha easily make this a likable and rising song.  Again, it is another track that is meant to be set on replay.  It provides a foundation for reflection of oneself and what you really want or want to achieve.  On the replay, I am sure this song can make many reflect on their own life, the decisions you have made, and where they have brought you.

The smooth sound of G-Eazy’s raps and the raspy R&B style of Bebe Rexha, gives us a song that lets us all feel comfort and relaxation within the best spot that we can easily find within us and when we need it---solitude.  Here is G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha's "Me, Myself & I":
